Your clients are not interested in your technical skills they simply want to pay you and make the process painless as possible. Keep it simple deliver what your clients want and make it easy for your clients.

Collect the content for the website before you even start building the website. If your client cannot provide the content, then charge extra to create content for them. Use sites like Fiver and Upwork to get a great price on professional work. Do not communicate with your client to much via email go out and see them or invite them to your workplace. Again, make it easy as possible for your clients do not leave them with too much to figure out.
Create reoccurring revenue
Set up extra services which will provide income. For example, you can create plugins and sell them to customers who will be billed each week, month or year. Think of it as selling a subscription.
Another way to get reoccurring revenue is to sell maintenance packages or weekly news update packages. Some clients will not want to go near their website they will be too busy working on something else. These customers will be willing to pay a monthly fee for relatively straight forward work.
Look at your skill set and see how you can package them up into a subscription-based service.
